Austin's podcast

In this episode, we summarize the meeting that took place at the Central Market-North location in Austin on 28 October 2009.

the agenda contained the following:
- Display of hardware devices, microphones, mixers, software and books;
- EVENTS: Podcamps (San Antonio, Arizona)- no one attended from the Group.
- EVENTS: BlogWorld and New Media Expo: no one attended from the group.
- New members welcomed: Cheryl and Teresa.
- Old members attended: Lindsey Allen, Michael Cohn, John Mayo, Mac and Fred C.
- Sharing of Podcasts: planned, current, launched, podfaded or aspiring - from all attendees.
* Michael Cohn has a DIGIWORKS channel on YouTube with his screencasts;
* Teresa has a podcast on holistic medicine;
* Cheryl is a musician and would like to begin a podcast on music;
* John Mayo has his COMIC BOOK PAGE podcast on iTunes;
* Lindsey Allen will be starting a Premium Podcast for EXPLORING NEW MEDIA;
* Fred C. has 10 podcasts, the latest of which was launched: www.finance4startups.com

- iPadio phonecasting: The group did a live phonecast from Fred's cell phone. This is the easiest way to create an mp3 file for podcast/phonecast. Free id at www.ipadio.com. Teresa from the KOOP group was asked to pay particular attention to the application of using phonecasts for roving reporters.

- The Austin Entrepreneur Network courses were discussed and URLs given;
- Lindsey Allen described his ideas for the launch of his EXPLORING NEW MEDIA (http://www.exploringnewmedia.com) program; for contacting him, use twitter handle @xplorenewmedia.
- Afterwards, we had a demonstration of the LEVELATOR freeware program for adjusting levels within an uncompressed file recording. Teresa and Mac stayed for the demo.

NEXT meeting will be during the time of December 1 - December 10th. We hope to get the same location. The MEETUP facility will send out the notice weeks in advance.
