This audio episode of the AUSTIN PODCASTERS GROUP describes the VIRTUAL meetup on 25 September 2008. Unlike the other prior meetups, this one took place entirely online, via the webinar facilities of Dave Jackson and his SCHOOL OF PODCASTING (at http://www.schoolofpodcasting.com).

We discussed upcoming events, different news in the world of podcasting, and then turned it over to Dave Jackson, as our special guest, to present:
- tutorials for learning how to podcast (12 steps);
- resources for podcasters of all levels;
- recommended hardware equipment for beginners;
- demonstration of audio editing and mixing software;
and then he conducted a ROUNDTABLE discussion, very much like his own "roundtables" for the paid subscribers of the SCHOOL OF PODCASTING. This was our chance to have a free 30-minute session with a very experienced podcast consultant and we called this time "ASK DAVE JACKSON."

The feedback at the end of the session via the online text chat window in the webinar screen all agreed that there was value in this VIRTUAL meetup, and that it should be done again at a later time.
By the way, Dave Jackson did record the session and will be providing a URL or web link to the recorded audio very soon to us. When he does, then I will post it as another episode (an "extra special" blogpost) on this web location (or blog).

We also asked for any interested member who wants to become the organizer of this Austin Podcasters Group for 2009 to please contact me via email:

austinpodcasters@gmail.com.

We would like to have other members of this team be able to share in the organizational leadership for at least 3 month-blocks, so that all can participate and get more than they put into the group.

Our thanks to Dave Jackson for his participation and leadership in the roundtable and for being our guest during this 1st VIRTUAL meetup of the Austin Podcasters Group.

Sincerely,
Fred Castaneda,
2008 Organizer
