In this episode of The Austin Podcasters Group, we deliver 4 different themes in this podcast:

1. The meetup originally scheduled on 19 June 2008 is cancelled, as we were notified by several members that summer vacation plans and other conflicts are causing unavailability.
In addition, the MEETUP team is sponsoring a nationwide tour, and they will be meeting in Austin during the same week for feedback, etc., from MEETUP members. Since both of these in the same week would cause inconvenience, we decided to cancel the meetup meeting in June--but we will still meet in July, but only at a different location more centrally located to the members of South-Central Austin.
More to come in the next podcast and in future emails.

2. Doug Welch from http://www.welchwrite.com has given us 2 different podcast episodes with interesting tools for the podcaster (both are podcasts that can be downloaded from iTunes in the series CAREERS IN PODCASTING AND NEW MEDIA):
a. WOOPRA.COM for live blog and podcast statistics (which may be of interest to those who want to track what is going on NOW with their episodes); and
b. TUBEMOGUL.COM for pushing (or syndicating) your videos to various video catchers/directories at one time. In this episode, we describe how HelloTxt.com works, and it is very similar--but this time, for video.

3. The New Media Expo (formerly the Podcast and Portable Media Expo in Ontario, California) will be moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be 3 days from August 14-17, 2008. The Hilton is the conference hotel, and more information and details for the paid conference, free registration for the exhibits and unconferences in the exhibit hall, and hotel information can be found at:
http://www.newmediaexpo.com.
You may also subscribe to the Podcast Series about the Expo at the same URL, or from iTunes, you can download the episodes of the series THE PODCAST BROTHERS.

4. We also share with you other alternatives to audio besides podcasting for free and publishing episodes. The theme here is creating the audio for a published literary work or book.

Thanks to Doug Welch for his 7 June 2008 posts of his podcast episodes, which are the screencasts mentioned in the audio mp3 file for this post.
