Podcamp San Antonio and the MXL-007 mic
May 12, 2008 07:12 PM PDT
In this episode, we have a recap of the activity and participation from several of the members of the Austin Podcasters Group as they took part on 3 May 2008 in Podcamp San Antonio-Numero Dos. It took place at the El Tropicano Hotel of the Holiday Inn chain in downtown San Antonio, Texas.
This episode also presents the usage of the MXL-007 condenser microphone with a USB connection. I actually used it in the beginning and the end of the audio mp3 file for this episode, so that you can get an idea of the sound quality. You can get a full review of this in a video podcast by Mark Jensen of the PODSQOD podcast. The podcast episode ends with a reminder that our next meeting will be on Thursday, 15 May 2008 at 7:00 pm. We are tentatively scheduled to meet at Opal Divine's Marina restaurant. However, we will be talking to the manager on 13 May 2008 of the Fry's Outpost location (which is physically across the parking lot next door). If we can meet in the snack area at Fry's, then a meetup email will go out on Tuesday evening to inform the membership. The Fry's location will be better suited for our meeting and our discussion with our guest speaker that will call in via phone -- Dave Jackson from the SCHOOL OF PODCASTING podcast. Looking forward to seeing the membership on Thursday night, 15 May 2008, at 7pm. The meetup email on 13 May will have the final location. Thanks for your support, and we shall see you there. Note: Podcast Music licensed from http://www.michaelandmike.com. Also: CORRECTION -- I had erroneously referred to the MXL-007 microphone as the "XML" microphone. This is, unfortuantely, a professional slip of the tongue and force of habit, as I deal with close-caption support for video and audio and with the Extensible Markup Language (XML). The correct name is "MXL"-007 USB microphone. I apologize for this error, because I used the incorrect name throughout the entire podcast.
